Product Description
TRUE BLOOD chronicles the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps... where vampires have emerged from the coffin, and no longer need humans for their fix. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) works as a waitress at the rural bar Merlotte's. Though outwardly a typical young woman, she keeps a dangerous secret: she has the ability to hear the thoughts of others. Her situation is further complicated when the bar gets its first vampire patron - 173-year old Bill Compton (Steven Moyer) - and the two outsiders are immediately drawn to each other.
Delivering the best of what audiences have come to expect from Creator and Executive Producer Alan Ball (writer of Oscar®-winning Best Picture “American Beauty”, creator of the Emmy® Award-winning HBO® series “Six Feet Under”), TRUE BLOOD is a dark and sexy tale that boldly delves into the heart - and the neck - of the Deep South.

Sexy & innocent
Reviewed by Sarah on January 3rd, 2010
I'll admit I watched True Blood on the back of my Twilight obsession, but it is light years ahead in every way. It's sexed up, but Sookie Stackhouse manages to skate the line between sexy & innocent, strong & a damsel in distress. She's a compelling heroine, Bill is every bit as hot and charming as a good vamp should be, and the rest of the characters have their own intertwining stories which mean there is never a dull moment throughout the series.
I can't really fault anything, the casting, script, filming, even the opening credits are just brilliantly done. I've just consumed the entire thing in a day - season 2, hurry up!

If you liked shows like Roswell and Midnight you will love True Blood as it's ten times more intriguing, witty, suprising and satisfying. At the end of every episode my husband and I look at each other and go "what the!?!" and can't wait to watch the next. There are some stellar comic moments provided by Sookie's brother Jason (played by Vinny from Home & Away) and he's awfully pleasant to look at! Anna Paquin is also suprisingly convincing as a southerner. There is a distinct improvement in all the actors performances in season two though as they all become more familiar with their roles. Definately worth purchasing just so funny, scary and suprising. A+++++
Best thing since......anything!

This series will have you hooked from the first episode whether you've read the books or not. Highly recommended
Quirky, sensual, bold (definitely!) and full of fun.

This series is erotic and witty with a convincingly real deep and steamy connection between the two lead characters. It is "Twilight" for grown-ups!
If Twilight's too PG for you

You Must Try TRUEBLOOD! For those who want a more graphic and nitty gritty view of a vampire show, definitely recommend this show, as it delivers more than you could enjoy in only one viewing. I've seen each episode multiple times as it's destined to be a classic with fans of this genre.
Note: Not for younger viewers as it does get quite graphic with violence, language and sexual content, but for those viewers prepared for these things True Blood does not disappoint!
This Series Rocks - Bring on Season 2 & more

I had heard from people that the series was good but I hadn't been able to watch it on TV at the time. Finally ordered the 1st Season and picked a time that
I could watch it in peace & quiet. Was absolutely enthralled once I started watching it. Anna Paquin seemed a bit dull at first but the more I got into the story the more I wanted to watch. I was truly disappointed when I came to the end of the series because I wanted to know what else was going to happen. Can't wait for Series 2 to be released so I can hide away and watch it from start to finish.
Edgy and wicked

I loved this series, and it's always so great to watch episodes back to back when there are so many interesting characters and plot lines. Also, it's really good to catch up on now since the second season's going to be airing on Prime soon, and I've heard that one's even better than the first! Can't wait!!!
Awesome TV Show

True Blood is an awesome series, they based the 1st season on the 1st book, and it was a very good adaptation to it. They beefed out a few non essential characters to give it more story, which made it all that much better. I loved this series very much and i cannot wait for the 2nd one.
Very Good TV Show

When i first heard of the programme i really wanted to watch it but problems with the TV prevented me from seeing it, i decided that i would wait for the dvd. I recently received the DVD as a present and loved it to bits, the series was kept very similiar to the first book (with some major differences though that they shouldnt have added in my oppinion). I liked the series very much and im looking forward to the second season.

I have always been a sucker for a Vampire Movie and collect them, so to be able to get an entire season of True Blood was a no brainer.
The Story is easy to follow but also gets you guessing from the start...
Great to see Anna in the lead Role and doing a Dam fine job of it to.
I mostly enjoyed being able to settle in and watch the episodes completely uninterrupted... BLISS ^V^ that alone is reason enough to own your own copy of this truly enjoyable series... cant wait for season 2
Highly recommend to all ",
An awesome watch for a rainy sunday!!!!!

The complete Trueblood first series all in one place.... and I consumed it in a day. Having recently read all the Sookie Stackhouse novels I was pleasantly surprised that the series kept all the best parts of the books while adding a couple more storylines and beefing up a couple of the characters.
not a typical american cliche series.

My second favorite TV series. (1st is Dexter)
doesn't drag out curtain problems that occur like typical big budget American series.
If the world had vampires this series demonstrates what it would be like accurately. with a plot that's semi believable.
Also the camera work lighting and cinematography make the entire series stunning.
Curtain parts are not for the faint hearted and the series doesn't hide anything to keep the R down. brilliant acting.
very funny.
very sad.
