Blizzard introduces a new concept in gaming: the RPS (Role-Playing Strategy) game. I'm afraid to say that Warcraft 3 was not what I was expecting. I like my RTS's to have heaps of units and have lots of manoeuvring such as Cossacks, or even Starcraft.
Warcraft has a very small maximum unit limit. Also the heroes didn't really catch my attention. They overpowered every combat they were in and it became more of a who can get more Heroes to a battle then any form of real thinking. All other units became secondary to a great extent. The only real tactics that was used was in making sure that you had enough of unit type X to counter the enemies unit type Y. Other then that it was a bash their heads together kind of game.
I beat the game, but mainly because the story was strong and the cut scenes incredible, and I do mean incredible!!
