    I bought Splinter Cell a little hesitantly, not being a Tom Clancy fan - but I wasn't disappointed.

    You play Sam Fisher, a covert operative working for the government. He is sent on a mission to find two mission agents, but one thing leads to another an soon he's in deeper than he anticipated

    Splinter Cell has excellent graphics that have to be seen to be believed. Light shining through a chain-link fence leaves its shadows on Sam's face as he passes. The sound is truly 3D, so if you have surround speakers, you are constanty glancing over your shoulder every time you hear a voice behind you.

    The environments are truly immersive. You can choose which way you prefer to go from point A to point B; disable cameras to assist your passage; and knock out or kill guards, pick up their bodies on your shoulders and conceal them in the shadows.

    A word of warning: This is a stealth game - killing being an absolute last resort - to the point where if too many bodies are found, Sam is pulled out, and the game is over.

    If you like the gung-ho blast in and kill everyone games, this may not be for you. owever, if you prefer a very classy stealth game, with an awesome look and sound - then Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is not to be missed.
