AWESOME!!!!!!!!
5 stars Reviewed by Ji yeon from Auckland, NZ on May 1st, 2008
This game is awesome! The rumours, the reviews, it's all true. It's brilliant! The graphics are even better than it was in KH2 and the design is much more cooler. The only annoying thing is the camera that can't keep up sometimes but that does nothing to effect how much you enjoy this game. It has a fun plot and the dubbing is pretty good. The characters grow on you and it's just a bright, enjoyable game. There are several mini games and unlockable stuff you keep you amused, even if you finish story. It's a great RPG/Adventure game that a wide range of audience can enjoy :D

Awesome

This game is awesome! If you liked the first one you HAVE to play this game. Many things have been improved since the first game. Battle, music, story, gameplay, camera, everything. Only let downs are it's still pretty much an x bashing game and sometimes you will go through worlds at a time without anything being contributed to the overall story. Besides that this game is the best!

awesome game just the start shocked me to the core i played a hardcore 6 hours and final finished a part of it just when the intro appairs kingdom hearts 2 i was jaw dropped and it is definately worth at least 70 dollars but when i saw the original price tag 129.99 i was kinda upset or though my ps2 is chipped and i just rented out the game and downloaded it to my ps2 i think other people wont buy it and enjoy bcause of the price but if they had it 50% off it would be far better but if the game was 60 dollars i think heaps more people would buy andplay it i have been playing the game for 2 weeks now and have ocmpleted the basic game and boi what a ending wont give away yo much though but seriously if u got the cash by it

Worth The wait and the Money

I got it the day it came out (thanks to GP Store) and i'm still playing it, unlike the first game, i'm tkaing my time with this one, trying to find all that there is to find.

I loved the first one, and I Love this one even more, from the first Intro all the way to the end..

there is just so much to see to find, to kill (those evil Nobodys, and the Organization)

it's good to see some of the old worlds from the first game back, and even better then before.

and it's good to see the new ones!

Truly an Exceptional Game!

Before you even start playing you get captivated by the intro movie, which is made up of small clips from KH1 and KH: Chain of memories. When I played the first game I really enjoyed the intro movie, with its amazing animation, but when it got to the actual game, I found it a bit of a let down, as I had been expecting great graphics. As with the second game the intro movie had spectacular graphics, as did the ending, but this time the actual game graphics really stood out.

KH2 has a more mature feel about it than KH1, with more voice acting and more personalities put into the characters eg. Sora insisting that he get a small amount of revenge because he just got slugged!

Being a more mature game made KH2 for me alot more hilarious, and I have no idea why, the more mature side is good for the story, but some parts I just couldn't help but laugh at! I geuss just seeing Sora singing under the sea in a musical made me laugh quite alot (By the way his underwater dancing is atrocious!).

The new Triange command, for me, brought a new element to the game and brought in a whole new concept that I really liked. It saves your thumb from RSI and brings in some awsome new moves!

All in all the story from KH1 gets carried on and gets sorted out, but I found a few thing confusing. As Im not allowed to give out spoilers I'll just say Alternate TT and Nobodies, but I'm getting my head around them.

All in all this is a brill game and an absolute must for all passionate gamers. The ending sequence is is brillient, and just so right (You'll know what I mean)! So worth your money!

Good Game, First Ones Better
4 stars Reviewed by Taha from Whakatane, NZ on October 4th, 2006
Well that was an adventure :), personally I like Kingdom Hearts 1 better, here are some of the reasons why :

*Difficulty was harder which made every battle memorable, in KH2 it seemed to me that I was playing on ( normal ) would be hard enough, I was wrong.

*In Kingdom Hearts 1 every world or event you encountered went to the sole purpose of reuniting with your friends Riku and Kairi and saving the world reinforcing the strong storyline, whereas in KH2 it felt like the worlds were there just to carry on the game for game length.

*There are tons of cut-scenes which bore me cause some where pointless and lengthy, you know that feeling when you just want to shred some heartless and not watching Sora opening a door? that's what the cut-scenes made me feel. I'm guessing like 40-50 % of the game is composed of cut-scenes that is if you dont waste time.

I dont see the graphics difference between KH1 and KH2. By the time you are finished with this game your thumb used for the x button or the x button itself will be broken - just kidding. Theres a new feature called the reaction command where you press triangle to react to something, e.g Block, all you do is keep tapping it, no timing needed and again this drops the difficulty to new lows.

I like the new forms where your abilities are enhanced or changed in some way they, also there are tons of new moves which helped for intense and exciting battles.

If Kindom Hearts 3 comes out all i hope is that they get the storyline perfect, it is the foundation of any Excellent game. Overall I loved this game but thought they could've done more.

"Darkness Will Never Take Over Our Hearts"

the game that we have all waited
5 stars Reviewed by Anonymous from Auckland, NZ on September 29th, 2006
because of the long wait this wont stop me from giving this game a five star. everything in this game is preety much better than the first one, from a good smooth animation graphics to a solid impressive storyline did a really good job. the gameplay mechanics of kingdom hearts 2 would be the downfall of the game because players would only end up button mashing and pressing the same all over the entire game.

Way too long-a-wait

I fell in love with the first game and was eagarly awaiting the second on March 28th
but it turns out it was the U.S release date I was guttted and all the wait completely destroyed my love for the game but all those considering buying the game DO IT it will keep you occupied for a long long while the game play mechanics are also to a high quality. I just wish I was enjoying this game the same time as Americans (!#%* them)

A good hack n' slasher
3 stars Reviewed by Sherrin from Otaki, NZ on September 22nd, 2006
If you like action/hack n' slash RPGs you'll certainly like this one.

The story draws you in and once hooked you're carried along on a action-packed ride. Characters that you met in the last game put in the odd appearance, but mostly you'll be meeting new and interesting ones. Apart from that there's lots to see, places to go and people to see.

The only disappointment is the never ending mashing of the 'X' button - I use a turbo controller and I was extremely glad of it. I would suggest you start your thumb excercises now, or else get a smart new turbo controller.

All in all a good game, but not great. But if you liked the first KH you'll like this one too.

Loved it

The main reason why I particularly loved this game is because of the storyline. I have played both the US and Jap version and everytime I watch the heartmelting endings and beautiful cut scenes, I cant help but cry. If you're anxious to know what happens after KH:TCOM, then this game is a must have for you.
The graphics are stunning, unbelievable, mind blowing, ground-breaking; whatever word you can think of, it fits perfectly.
The gameplay has improved by far. The new Drive modes have really increased the enjoyment and creativity this game.
Plenty of replay value. The game will keep you occupied for ages.
This game is undescribable- The minute you watch the opening movie and the second you start playing the actual game, you'll know you haven't wasted your money.
This game is without a doubt worth buying, it really is.

It was a good game but too short
4 stars Reviewed by Alan from Hamilton, NZ on September 5th, 2006
The gameplay was fun, and the story was quite good as well, but I managed to beat the game on proud mode (hardest) in 35 hours with no guide used. This was also with some training when I couldnt beat a certain boss. The graphics are alot better then KH1, and the worlds that you visit are sometimes the same but are also differnt. One of the things about KH2 is that Atlantis is a non-combat area which disapointed me but overall the game is good and worth playing.

Awesome game!

I just finished this game today (NTSC version). Its simply awesome! This game lasted me 50hrs, and I will play it again as well. Worth buying!

Great gameplay, great graphics!

I've played the Japanese and the US version of this game, and I absolutely loved it! The gameplay is better than the first one, with new things that'll keep you entertained for hours. However the one thing that I thought could have improved was the storyline, it doesn't seem as good as the first one, but that's probably just because I had too much expectations of it. Overall, a must get for all gamers!
