The game card is a pretty good deal
4 stars Reviewed by Joshua on February 24th, 2009
The World of Warcraft Game Card's are pretty useful for a few reasons. The first is that, even though it gives you two months worth of game time, it's cheaper than actually $15 USD (as of writing, that is converted to roughly) $30 NZD a month. So you're saving around $10*

The second is that the game time card is especially useful for those of you who either don't have a credit card, can't pay by credit card, or simply don't want to. And considering Mighty Ape accept PayPal, that makes the utility of them even better.

* Note that Blizzard support different subscription plans (like 6- and 12-month plans) which cost cheaper (per month) than going with a automatic monthly plan. Of course, the downside with such a plan if that you have to come up with the money upfront, which is why I prefer the game cards.

Better than the Exchange Rates
4 stars Reviewed by Joshua on February 5th, 2009
It's worth paying for because, due to the current exchange rates, via credit card you will be paying $29.40 (roughly) for the game. Times that by two and you will be paying a lot more than the price of this card.

Exchange rates suck and I hate paying for game time I'm not using, I also hate having to pay twice as much as what the US pay. But that's just the way it is, and it's not going to change for two countries (Australia experience the same problem too).

Currently worthwhile

For the obviuosly maths-poor people below...

This card give two months play-time for $NZD50. As of writing the dollar is worth $US0.53c so a one month subscription is over $NZD28/month and a three month sub is about $NZD26/month and a six month sub is about $NZD24/month.

Based on that it is worthwile getting the gamecard since it will save you money at this point in time. If the dollar heads back up to the 60c US mark then it stops being worthwhile again.

Great Value

This card is excellent value for money. Because of the current economic crisis in the US my friend said he paid $27 NZD for his subscription this month. That's $81 for 60 days. This is only $50 for 60 days!

Good for 2 Months game Play!

This is Ideal especially if your Unlucky with out a visa card, While reviews above point out good points just keep in Mind that While pay 14 dollars Your only paying a MONTH as with using this card gives you 60 days which that 2 months..

No matter how you look at it It does cost but then for whats it worth it could be like some other MMO that sells as good with Lag issues, Connection, disconnection etc regular than what it does offer.

Safe, Secure and innovative

This card is a good idea. My only issue with the game card (and the monthly subs) is that it would be good if you could "bank"the time you get from the card.

By this i mean, whenever you log into your account the amount of time left on the card decreases and stops when you log out. It's a shame this can't be done cos either way you pay for the gaming experience whether or not you are logged on.

I'd prefer to pay when i'm actually playing as you are losing (in terms of the $ and to a lesser extent - time) when your not, especially say for example you are away for "X" amount of days.

So if we look at it - for $1.40NZD per day (based on 31 days / $22.00 for a monthly credit card payment). It may not seem like much but if you were to calculate each day you didn't play by the cost (ie: 10 days in the month not spent playing = $14.00 you are charged for).

Stack this up per annum and it all adds up. I hate to bang on about the cost but i strongly feel that we should all be given the best value for the money where putiing up.

Food for thought.

awesome top up for WOW

I will have to disagree with mr. anonymus from Napier even though it's like NZ$22 per month when converted from US dollars and not everyone has a credit card. You're basically getting two months (of gameplay) for the price of one not counting the lil bit for packaging. basically kinda like a top up for your cellfone but it's for World of warcraft game.

worth it I give it a 5 out of 5 rating.

Awesome

Definetly a good idea, no messing about, safe and secure becuase its like topping up your vodafone account all you do is scratch the card and type in the number and you are away.

Handy

Not to mention the fact that people without Credit Cards can buy game time ^^

Only for those without Credit

This card seems to cost more than if you used a credit card to purchase game time. A monthly subscription is around 22 NZ dollars.

Having said that this card has three advantages. You don't need to worry about exchange rates, you can give the cards as gifts and perhaps the most important thing is not having to worry about paying interest on your credit card.
