Product Description
The face of war has changed. Enemy lines blur and there is no longer a clear opponent. New enemies and new threats require a new type of warfare - a new type of soldier. Enter the Ghosts.
The year is 2013. The U.S. Army has been developing – and can now deploy – the Integrated Warfighter System (IWS), a complex combination of cutting-edge technologies that transforms an individual soldier into the ultimate fighting force. IWS combines advanced weapons systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system that is finally ready for the true test of the battlefield. Combining the advantages of next-generation console technology with future military technologies, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® 3 includes a wealth of groundbreaking features, including the Cross-Com, a communication device attached to the soldier's monocle and powered by satellite technology, which will deliver constant and complete battlefield awareness seamlessly within the action. In addition, Ubisoft will employ increased processing power to its fullest, with breathtaking graphics, lighting and textures, multi-windowing, and state-of-the-art physics. Current-generation versions of the game will be custom-built using top technologies that push each platform to its limits.
In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® 3, players will embody Captain Scott Mitchell as he commands the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe. The game, on all platforms, unfolds entirely in Mexico City, where numerous, meticulously researched and detailed environments will deliver complete immersion into the future of urban warfare. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® 3 will also include multiplayer and cooperative gameplay with exciting new elements, continuing the Ghost Recon tradition of setting the bar for multiplayer action.
In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield.
Following an insurgence in the heart of Mexico City, the U.S. Army's most elite Special Forces team is deployed to the center of the conflict to regain control of the city. Greatly outnumbered but fully equipped with the IWS, this elite team is the first and last line of defense on the battlefield. They are the "quiet" professionals. They are the Ghosts.
Key Features:
Next-generation gaming technology: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 is built from the ground up for next-generation consoles, maximizing increased power to deliver phenomenal graphics and a host of innovative features. Current-generation versions will be custom-tailored for each platform.

this would be 1 kickass game if i stopped getting dead lol, sure it's hard, but that just makes it more of a challenge, too bad about your teamates A.I, they are pretty dumb, but overall, very cool
Hard.

I don't have the patience for this game. It's really cool but really, really hard. The combat (on normal) is, I suppose on a level with actual combat. That's fine and everything if you happen to be a trained soldier and not just some guy like me. I lasted about as long as I would in a real battle... not very long at all. And I was doing everything I was suppose to like using cover, being really careful and generally not acting like it's just some FPS. But I still got killed all the time.
After I got killed for the seven or eighth time on the first mission (when they started shooting RPGs at me) I gave up.
It's a really cool game... it's just really, really hard. I'm not just some casual gamer either. I'm a dedicated player but it was too much for me.
I should also point out since it uses HDR and you can't turn it off you can't use AA on most cards.
Total Kick Ass

Even with the latest patch this game randomly crashed, I also updated all sound and video drives and exceed the minimum spec... Aaarrrgghh

Excellent game with top quality presentation. Prefer this version instead of the Xbox 360 version, maybe that's just because I'm a PC fanboy at heart... anyways, if you like this type of game, highly recommended!

NUTTEY
Fast card required for this.
Reviewed by Ewan on May 2nd, 2006
I have been playing GR/r6 Series since they came out. After extensive testing by some of the forum members on GR.net it is very clear that you will need a fast card to play this at a decent resolution along with a faster CPU and at least 1 Gig of RAM. 512MB on your video card is advisable if you want full eye candy. No AA settings are availible for this title because of the lighting used in the engine.
The AI are indeed pretty dumb but the gameplay is great and the maps are huge! Its designed for the future for sure, but will need patches to bring it up to scratch with the original.
Check the demo before you buy!
Play the demo first

There is a lot of good and bad going for and against this game. I was so much looking forward to playing it. However, after playing the demo I have my reservations about getting it. It has great graphics and a nice tactical overmap, but what really lets it down is the stupid artificial intelligence of your 3 squad-mates; they walk out into enemy fire, look in the wrong direction, forget to follow you and are difficult to control.
