Product Description
Star Wars Battlefront II takes the best-selling Star Wars video game one Imperial-walker step forward with all-new space combat, playable Jedi, and never-before-seen environments straight out of the Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith film. Fans of the original Star Wars Battlefront will also enjoy an all-new single-player experience that takes players through an epic, story-based saga where every action the player takes impacts the battlefront and, ultimately, the fate of the Star Wars galaxy. Critically acclaimed Pandemic Studios is once again developing the game for LucasArts.
Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game's single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi.
For the first time ever, Star Wars Battlefront II players can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting on foot inside a capital ship, players can enter the spacecraft of their choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, they can dock within the enemy's capital ship, overtake the ship's command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or, they can simply stay inside their own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is theirs.
The stellar online play that marked the original Star Wars Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Star Wars Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever (up to 24 on PS2, 32 on Xbox, 64 on Windows).

Well done

If you enjoy games like Battlefield 2 but found it a little too difficult, you will enjoy this. As already mentioned the medals system is a great improvement. Achieve medals in certain areas and you can gain a reward once you have done this at least 4 times. Go right up to 64 or legendary status and you will keep your rewards for all your single-player games. The heroes aren't too bad, might be nice to have few more force powers for Jedi like force throw etc. Space battles are Ok, especially the fact that you can go inside for sabotage. As mentioned it would be good if you could control the frigates, star destroyers and cruisers as you would in the Battlefield series. Would love to use one to blow up an entire planet, like Malak did in Knights of the Old Republic.
Demo Impressions - It's Better

First off I will mention that this game will humble your PC, unless of course you have an up to date system. The good news, if your PC can run Battlefront it will run Battlefront II, but expect to dial down the graphics a bit unless you have a modern videocard, anything in the 6000 series of Geforce FX cards should do well. Graphics at lowest detail look as good as Battlefront at high detail.
The major change to the game is not really the space battles or the jedi, rather it's the ranking system. So as your stats improve you can access more powerful classes. It's worth it too, as one of the classes has a gun not unlike a mini-gun and when you get that you can own.
The other change of significance is classes can give bonuses to other teammates, for example the Clone Commander can give soldiers a temporary shield bonus - so they are putting an emphasis on teamwork.
The space battles, well they are not what you would think. Yes you fly around space, and yes you can land on enemy capital ships, but really it's kind of like a normal map except you can fly through the ground plane and it's been replaced by a starfield. Inside the capital ships you can mount turrets, no surprise there, but what's disappointing is you cannot fly them. If it can be argued the original Battlefront was a clone of the Battlefield series, well at least in Battlefield you can drive the big boats, but not in Battlefront or this sequel. Shame.
