The fourth Burnout game raises the bar set in Burnout 3 in terms of graphics and speed. The graphics are superb, the cars look very sleek (Too bad they are not liscenced from actual brands) and the environments look much better than they did in Takedown. The gameplay seems to be faster this time, and the new crashbreaker feature is also a delight to use. When you crash, as well as going into impact time, detonate your car when the time is right to blow up anyone anywhere near you. Sadly this does take away from the challenge of getting a total takedown.
The soundtrack does let the game down. It is the usual EA offering of rock and dance, and if you've heard other EA games, you've heard this one. Luckily there are far more tracks than there were in NFSU2.
This game looks truly wonderful in a HDTV, and to top off the experience, Live play is a huge improvement over the previous game.
