Rainbow operatives take to the chaotic streets of Las Vegas as an escalating terrorist siege in “Sin City” threatens to take world terrorism to new, uncontrollable heights. The future of global security hangs in the balance as you battle to defend classic Vegas locations and environments like Fremont Street, the Strip and casinos. Experience Las Vegas like never before – through revolutionary next generation technology as you work against the clock to protect one of the world’s most recognizable cities from utter devastation.
Features:
- New Leader, New Team – Team Rainbow ushers in a new breed of heroes. With a new team, comes added responsibility. Tactics play a MAJOR role in your team’s success, as each member comes equipped with his own skill set.
- Logan Keller – Team leader and recon expert.
- Michael Walter – Heavy weapons and demolition expert.
- Jung Park – Long range and electronics specialist.
- Special Order Location – Experience a new level of squad-based realism as your teammates, Michael and Jung, offer you real-time tactical suggestions like busting through walls or hacking computers, all in a race against time to locate the heart of the terrorist cell.
- Observe - Plan - Assault – Use tactical planning to maneuver through multiple-path Vegas environments while utilizing high-tech equipment such as snake cams to strategically “tag” terrorist targets to your teammates, prior to entering a room.
- Real-Time Immersion – Prepare yourself for a new level of in-game immersion with real-time mission briefings, all in the midst of the most intense combat ever played.
- Advanced Gameplay Animations – Motion-captured assault and recon techniques such as fast roping, rappelling, window entry, blind-cover fire and more. All captured by an experienced Hollywood animation expert.

As you get past the grunts and advance closer to the center of the terrorist cell, encounter deadlier, more skilled enemies who work together as a group to counter every move you make.

No problems here, only the story

When I first played this game I thought it was pretty great, maybe if I played it again I wouldn't think so (Most games I play are initial hype then after I come back to it I see all the flaws, as with Assassin's Creed), but when I got round to finishing it, as my review for R6V2 says the story is short, and rather pathetic how Ubisoft made it a 2 part game just to suck more money out of dedicated fans (And before you say otherwise, they did it with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter as well, 2 game franchises, come on), as for Phil, I don't know how you got those problems but I could of sworn I played it fine on my friend's brother's computer (I'm too lazy to carry my computer to his house for a LAN so I just use his bros which is made of recycled parts, crap NZ internet aswell) which has a Athlon 4000+ socket 939, Radeon x1600 Pro AGP (From Memory) and approximately 1.5-2gb of ddr ram
Best value (tactical) fps

I bought this game and loved it for 3 hours til my 6800GS burnt out (1280'1024 low-mid 0AA/AF). On this setting, graphics far exceeded source. I got a leadtek 9600GT to replace it which I didn't mind doing since I got 2.5 years from my 6800GS. Now for some reason it won't even launch (message me if you know why pl0x). It's a very good game (haven't tried multi-player yet though) but it might be worth getting the console versions.
better then everyone is saying

well before i played this I played cod4.
And cod4 makes this look like a N64 game.
Very crap game.
My game doesn't look like that.

I don't understand how a game that looks so bad can run so poorly. Yes... bad. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but it looks nothing like the screen shots. It's all sort of... fuzzy. Like you're looking out of a dirty window. Maybe it's just something on my end, I don't know.
I'm disappointed in how it performs also. I've got a 7800GTX and an Athlon 4600+ and I can only run the game at 1024x768 and get reasonable frame rates. But that's until I get more than a couple of guys running around then it get's quite choppy. And that's with HDR off and shadows and everything down to minimum. And no AA. There isn't any, so everything's jaggy as hell. Couple that with the fuzzyness and it's hard to see anything at a distance.
I don't understand it, I really don't.
The game itself looked pretty cool, but I didn't get very far with it.
Awesome!

a totally awesome game! runs perfect on my 7600GT at full graphics(tho me don't like the motion blur turning, makes me quezzy lol well it did at first.) The new cover system is awesome and you teammates can actually kill guys and are good at it and rarely died. been playing for 5hrs and not once have they died unlike me lol. soo overall, kick ass graphics, specally when u flying over las Vegas at night, its sight to behold! awesome ai and great sound!
Vegas Baby, Vegas.

I kid you not this game is absolutely stunning to behold. Gorgeous visuals right from the get go in the railyards and mines of Mexico through to the awesome casinos in Vegas. If you have shader model 3.0 this game is a real treat, even on my low end 6800GS I can play at 1280 by 960 and full detail and it still runs smooth as. The unreal engine looks brilliant and there are next to no loading times.
The singleplayer story is good fun and well thought out but were vegas really shines is the multiplayer action. Nothing beats the sheer fun off fragging with players all over the world inside a casino or hunting down terrorists in an office building. The use of cover and switching to 3rd person when in cover is very well done and makes the game much more interesting and being a rainbow six title you can control your team mates for some good team based action. My PC shooter of the year.
Yep,8800 is what you need

My card is a 256mb 7400 geforce, and I can only play it at 640x480 with everything at min or off,and at playable rates after tweaking the config file minimising textures etc,and overclocking. This card meets or exceeds min recommendation.
Ubisoft are ringing the death bell for pc gaming IMO,not everyone can afford the very latest graphics, they are now only interested in developing console games with maybe an extremely poor quality port[GRAW,splinter cell,R6Vegas]to make a bit of additional coin.
I dispute that these games have great graphics, what they do have is great lighting effects[Shader model 3?],IMO they have extremely poor textures for characters and buildings/scenes etc especially when compared to 3 year old games like HL2 which by the way looks incredible even on a minimalist system.
Apart from that it is buggy [ubipatch?]you can't save where you want[as per GRAW]and looks like your looking through a car window that has had 500 cartons of cigarettes smoked in it
 | Best. Rainbow Six. Ever

Please ignore the other review, Shader Model 3.0 is standard for todays computers, and the review wasn't even based on the game itself.
Rainbow Six: Vegas is one of the best games in the series! The new system of take cover, fire, and advance isn't necessarily innovative, but it works amazingly well with the controls, and and fluidity between each animation is extremely well done. All the squad movements in the game are from motion capture, so it looks extremely lifelike. The graphics are beautiful, although the game does tend to use depth of field and motion blur a bit, but it looks great either way.
If you're considering buying the game, then you probably already know quite a bit about the game. Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, wonderful atmosphere, great tactics, and an overall polished FPS/3rdPS. Rappel down walls, set tags for your teammates to kill, and create the best and most safe way to free hostages from a bunch of angry terrorists.
Although the game specifications are high, I say if you have a Series 7 Nvidia card or higher, you'll be able to get it at playable fps and average graphics. I have a 8800GTS, so the card has full SM4.0 support (even the game itself doesn't lol). The graphics look unbelievable in game, and you can have it looking better then the 360 if you have a 8800 GTS or GTX.
So overall, if you have a good system, but it on PC, you won't regret. :)
