Launch Letdown but Golden Cheapy

Resistance is one of those games that although there's nothing wrong with it, it's barely more than an average FPS. As a launch title, I'm sure it kept many busy but at $100+ I couldn't recommend it to any one (especially as I own a 360 with Gears of War, Halo 3 etc). Now the price has dropped and now I definetely believe this game is Value for Money.
Although more recent shooters (Call of Duty 4 especially) run faster and look prettier, Resistance still doesn't look too bad or slow down (or at least not at standard definition). Throw this into a Hi-Def TV and you may be disappointed as there are many better looking games out there.
Multiplayer is great although I tend to think its flailings are due to the Playstation Network. In my experience with the Playstation Network and Xbox Live, I tend to find I run into less problems, and dropouts on my 360 when compared with the PS3 (which I seem to be constantly having to reboot to get a connection to a game, i.e. play one game then search for a host, unable to find one, even if it searches for ages, until I switch off and load up the game again and find a host in seconds).
By all means this is not a necessary buy, but it will keep your trigger finger happy for at least 6-8 hours on hard until Unreal Tournament III is out.

Aliens? Sci-Fi Weaponary? Yesss!

I own this game.. ive owned it since the PS3 launch in Oz and ill end it until the PS4 comes out. I will never part with Resistance, why? BECAUSE THIS GAME IS AWESOME! I get frustrated when I hear people call this a "bad game".. thats insulting. Not only is that insulting the game itself, but thats insulting people's intelligence who KNOW for a fact that this game is indeed a keeper and will provide many hours of entertainment.
The story is amazing, the graphics are cutting-edge, the variety in gameplay is total next-gen and the sound is absolutely brilliant. I cant find a fault. If you own a PS3 and if you're into shooters (or even if your not.. hell i'm neither a FPS or Sci-Fi fan but somehow find this game to be killer) then I highly recommend this. THE best launch title in the history of gaming. We'll have to wait for the 8th generation of gaming before another game gives it a run for its money, but until then it's king of the hill and will most probebly remain that way until the sequel is released.

A solid shooter...

This is currently the premier shooter on the PS3 - but that's not saying a whole lot right now. It's definitely not breaking fresh ground in any one area, apart from some excellent multiplayer facilities, but in lieu of Killzone 2, we'd take a sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man any day of the week. Is it worth the price of PS3 admission? Well, that depends on how much you love your shooters. But when you factor in MotorStorm too, these might just hold enough clout to sway your wallet towards the cashier. (IGN)
Worst game i've played in years!

I hate this game. It's crap. Plain and simple. I purchased this when I got my PS3 and after spending so long playing Gears of War on xbox360 it was nothing other than a letdown. A dud as far as I'm concerned. Only buy it if your desperate!

I got this game at launch I'm not a big fan of FPS and i think it's bloody brilliant for a launch title. You couldn't get used to the controls and you say your a fan of shooters on all consoles, so if you were to jump on another shooter on another console or for that matter if this game was on other consoles you would still stay firm to what you have said? "the game play is horrible" you are clearly a person who prefers using keyboard and mouse in FPS and if you were to stick it out for longer than an hour you would've found out that tilting the controller DOES do something.
To wrap it up this is an awesome game if your a fan of games like doom or half life i strongly suggest you give this one a go, playing it online or offline is a blast, you do more than shoot aliens and this game has a fair amount of replay value to it.

I'm a fan of shooters on all consoles, however, I played this game for the first time on PS3 and I can say that I was not impressed at all. Firstly the graphics, while playing in four player the graphics turned out extremely pixellated, this game was not meant to be played on 4 player split screen. Secondly the gameplay, I found this extremelly horrible and I couldn't get used to it after playing for 1 hour, the tilting of the controllers has no effect in this game, i'd hardly call it a next gen game. If you have a PS3, do not buy this, you will be dissapointed.

This game is very good. I am NOT a first person shooter fan in fact of the 100 plus PS1 and PS2 games I own only 4 are FPS.
I really enjoyed a the atmosphere in this game, the sound is really really good, the weapons are crazy and online play is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, story I very good. When you get a 40 person mulity player match on the roof top map had better be prepaid to die A LOT. While there is a slight problem with online play in terms that a lot of games are just Death match with 1 hot kills and unlimited ammo its not the games fault, it the dam noobs online looking to boost there unranked match score. Also not many people play ranked matches. This is going to change in may though when the servers will be patched a enable WORLD WIDE ONLY PLAY LAG FREE, so you will be able to kill Yanks, English, Spanish ,Japanese Aussie ,etc and there wont be a problem with not being able to find people to play against.
