Greatest game ever?

Exceptional game on single player, never had so much fun and played a single player game so much.
My opinion, greatest game ever in that aspect.
As for online, well, just search and you will find 1000s of forums topics full of problems, errors etc, I myself have never had any problems but if you plan on buying this game for online play then make sure you have plenty of aussie and nz people with it on your friends list otherwise you will never find a lag free game.
When you do find a lag free game though you will be impressed, I havent been as addicted to a game since Socom 2 and beleive me all the searching through laggy games is worth it when you find a good one.
4 Stars seen as other people seem to be having problems online, but from my experience it would have to be a 6 Star game!!!
Better on PS3

It shows developers are just starting to unlock all that power under the hood! Great FPS good mutli player aswell! Must buy for xmas.

If you like FPS this game is made for you. COD 4 is one of the best games out this year if not the best. The campain can be played through many tiumes with so much to do and every time is just as intence as the next. It is worth every cent that you pay for this game. If you have online play then you are in for the biggest present this side of christmas. The online play is in one word amazing. It is made so well that you really feel that you are accomplishing something ever time you play, because there is so much to do. With all the unlockables and leveling up to get new guns and attachments what is not to like. The visulas in this game are top notch.Finaly it looks like the PS#s hardware is starting to get really used by a game which is great. If you are looking for the first truly great FPS for the PS3 here it is and let all furture FPS games be judged on this one.

An awesome game! I am unable to find anything that's not great in this title. I have played alot of combat shooters/sims and this is the best hands down since Rainbow 6 way back in 98'. I don't regret paying for this in anyway!
Graphics - 9/10
Sound - 10/10
Game play - 10/10
Presentation 10/10
Seeing is believing..........this is a must have for fans of this genre..........
INTENSE!
Reviewed by Broden from Hobart on November 12th, 2007
This game has some of the most intense battles I've ever played in any war game, graphics are fantastic.
Multiplayer is great with a local host not so great with international hosts, I'm hoping there will be a patch for some of these minor teething problems
True next-gen FPS
Reviewed by Gary from Upper Hutt, NZ on November 10th, 2007
This is an awesome FPS, it surpasses COD3 in all aspects minus one. The game is surprisingly short, I finished the single player campaign in about 4 hours on Normal difficulty. Luckily it has an arcade mode that allows you to replay missions and get scored on it (similar to Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) so that may extend its life somewhat.
One feature that you will immediately notice missing is the SIXAXIS control, unlike COD3 which had numerous uses for the motion control COD4 has totally abandoned it.
Loading times are relatively short for a next-gen game and checkpoints are located throughout levels (and the game saves at the checkpoints so you can exit and resume at the last checkpoint you reached) and the reload time after dying is only a few seconds... probably why I managed to finish so quickly!
Despite all that, its still amazing and well worth the money. The initial learning curve is quite short, graphics and sound are beautiful and the AI system is great. Being a squad based FPS the AI was always going to be the main focus point and although they aren't as interesting as in Jericho where you can switch between them, I don't think your team-mates can be killed but they aren't idiots that stand on the spot getting their ass shot up, they're quite useful in providing suppressing fire.
