The PC version of Street Fighter IV will feature online play, higher screen resolutions and three new shaders based on three of the “artistic” trailers released in 2008 that will change the visual appearance of the game: “watercolour,” “poster” and “sumi-e ink” styles.
Street Fighter IV brings the legendary fighting series back to its roots by taking the beloved fighting moves and techniques of the original Street Fighter II, and infusing them with Capcom's latest advancements in next generation technology to create a truly extraordinary experience that will re-introduce the world to the time-honored art of virtual martial arts.
Everything that made the legendary Street Fighter II a hit in the arcades, living rooms and dormitories across the globe has been brought back in Street Fighter IV. Players will be able to play their favorite classic characters, such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile, along with new characters, including Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus. Characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D, while the game is played in the classic Street Fighter 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes. Six-button controls for the game return, with a host of new special moves and features integrated into the gameplay system. Street Fighter IV brings a brand new fighting game to fans the world over.
Features:
- Classic “2D” Street Fighter gameplay with stunning 3D characters and environments
- New special moves that go beyond any Street Fighter fan's wildest imagination, including Focus attacks, Super Combos, and the revenged-fueled Ultra Combo system.
- Classic Street Fighter characters recreated for a new generation of gamers, including the original cast of Street Fighter II
- New brawlers: female super-spy Crimson Viper, lucha libre wrestler El Fuerte, mixed martial artist Abel and more!
- Amazing locations never seen before in a Street Fighter game
- New gameplay elements provide new challenges for both newcomers and the most seasoned Street Fighter pro.

No surprises - and that is good!

I first saw the gameplay promise of SF IV walking around akihabara in Tokyo earlier this year and was determined to purchase it - and I have not been disappointed. The gameplay is as simple and elegant as it was in our beloved SF II but the eye candy of 2D play in what looks to be a 3D format really makes it. The fighters are not loaded up with new special moves and what additions to gameplay there are are for the most part not intrusive, and probably give a small added degree of complexity that is welcome.
The one qualm with gameplay is that it appears to be slower than previous versions. But this is only an issue for those like myself who grew up with a precise, almost automated view of the SF fighting world! For the price I paid for this, on the PC platform, it is well worth it if you were like me (ie not a hard core game player but with your favourites) and thinking about buying a PS3 just to play this (and in my case FIFA 10!!).
Old School, but newer!

If you liked the old fast paced arcade Street Fighter action, then you will feel right at home with this game.
The only thing you wont like is Games for windows live...which will continually make your life difficult.
However the character modelling and skillsets are almost perfect. The stylisms you can add to the graphics are brilliant and the gameplay makes you feel like you're a 10 year old kid in the mall arcade, spending all of your pocket money again.
This game is challenging though, the AI on the harder modes will make you weep, and you will learn to absolutely loathe the name "Seth".
5/5, brilliant gameplay, simple, wonderful graphics, justice to the old school plus adaptation of the newer technologies...what more could you want out of a fighter game?
