Product Description
This sequel to the popular Wii Sports makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with Wii Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion.
Wii MotionPlus tracks players’ movements in finer detail and with greater accuracy than ever before. With Wii MotionPlus, even the slightest twist of the wrist or turn of the body is replicated exactly on the television screen, which allows users to become even more immersed in Wii game play.
Just as with Wii Sports, people will love competing against friends and family. As the competition heats up, Wii Sports Resort is as much fun to watch as it is to play. First-time players will find it easy to pick up a Wii Remote and jump into the action.
Wii Sports Resort takes place on a tropical island. A wide range of activities will keep players coming back for one more round. Some sample activities include Sword Play, Power Cruising (racing a water scooter) and Disc Dog, which involves accurately tossing a disc to a cute, Mii-like dog.
Features:
- Wuhu Island has so many things to do, there's never a dull moment. A dozen activities await visitors: Archery, Frisbee, Basketball, Cycling, Canoeing, Power Cruising, Table Tennis, Air Sports, Bowling, Swordplay, Golf and Wakeboarding.
- The activities use the precision controls of the Wii MotionPlus accessory to help players come much closer to the physical reality of engaging in the actual sports. Every real-world action, whether it's a perfect drive on the fairway or a slice off the course, is meant to be faithfully replicated.
- Each activity has multiple fun challenges designed to keep visitors coming back for more. Basketball players might compete in a three-point shootout or jump into a three-on-three pickup game. Archery enthusiasts must aim for the bull's-eye across ever-increasing distances and obstacles.
- Different activities use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers in different ways. For example, players hold the Wii Remote like a paddle in Canoeing, while in Cycling they use both arms to “pedal” with the two controllers. The Wii MotionPlus accessory picks up every nuance of motion and translates it onto the TV screen.
- Depending on the activity, players can compete solo or against other players. Some activities even let players team up to work cooperatively.

A great addition to the Sports range
Reviewed by Leon on January 22nd, 2010
With a huge range of new sports to try your hand at this is an excellent addition to the Wii Sports range.
The added sensitivity of the Motion Plus is a real bonus as it makes everything so much more responsive during game play.
There are still loads of opportunities to take on friends and family in the multi-player events.... but there is also loads to do alone as a single player.
My personal favs are the Island flights and the Segway!
A great workout!

A lot of fun activities - you get a workout without realising it. A great family gaming experience.

seems good, have played a few games but old ones like ten pin bowling seem to be easier than before, not too much of a challenge

I love the interaction and better accuracy of the upgraded of Wii Sports. Wii Sports Resort has a few more games to which works well in 2 player mode!
Great demo with a few short comings

Shows what the motion plus peripheral can do , however only a few of these games are good and have replay value. Archery, swordplay, air sports, table tennis, bowling and golf are all great games and even better multiplayer.
Fun game but was always just going to be a demo for motion plus, a must for every wii motion plus owner.
Great fun for the family

We recently bought Wii Resort and I now come home to demands from the 2 year for "Resort!" and delighted cry's of "oh no! splash!" when an opponent is knocked into the water.
The children get a real kick out of the games with their favourites Speed Slicing (cutting objects in the right direction faster than your opponent), sword duals (block and knock you oppoent off a raised platform into the water) and flying around (exploring the island and finding points of interest and shooting ballons on the way).
All the games are accessible and easy to learn but with enough challenges to keep an adult interested and kids coming back for more.
Some of the games like golf will feel familar but the motion plus adds a couple of new dimensions to the play giving more control and scope to slice it if you not lined up.
Likewise bowling extends to 100 Pin games and increases difficulty to cater to your ability to very accurately spin the ball.
One of the best games out there for the Wii and a real winner with the family - highly recommended
 | So much fun

I bought this for my teenagers but they're having to fight me for control. It's just brilliant, especially when i beat them at the games. The motion plus bit takes it to a whole new level. You have to buy it - you won't regret it!
If you like Wii Sports, then you need to get this!

Excellent! Have been waiting for this for a while now. Great games in the Wii Sports Resort, the whole family was already into it the moment we got this. The motion sensor definitely adds a new dimension to Wii gaming. Will have to save up more money to get more Wii remotes and the motion sensor as everybody wants to play.
Excellent addition to the games cabinet.

In this fantastic sequel to Wii Sports, you have to define your skills even further to achieve greatness. The Wii Motion Plus allows you to fine tune your game play to beat your opponents in table tennis with amazing spins and smashes. Try beating your record with the 3 point contest in basketball - it will have you trying to do slam dunks in your lounge. Become a fighter pilot and shoot all your friends balloons to win the fun dog fight in air sport.
Find and hit the "secret" targets in each of the archery levels to get an achievement stamp. It's not as easy as you think!! Throw frisbees to your pet dog on Stardust Beach or slice your way through opponents in ten areas in sword play.
Excellent game.

Excellent game but only in multiplayer

Great sequel to wii sports with 12 games included this time around, motion plus really does live up to the hype and i doubt anyone will be disappointed with how responsive it is. really enjoy playing this game with friends but i find that as with a lot of wii games, its single player life is substantially shorter. A must though for any wii owner.
****Love It*****

As an older generation player I have to say "I simply Love it". I'm sure that the people who walk past my house think that I am completely nuts always laughing and jumping around. Better than Wii Sports because it interacts better and you have more control -although some of the games take a little longer to grasp ( which is a good thing). I have quite a few games, mostly sport, including Wii Fit but this is the most fun so far..... Buy it you won't be sorry
Essential purchase for Wii owners
Reviewed by Damian on August 1st, 2009
Not very deep, but it's essential if you own a Wii. The various sports on offer have incredibly innovative control schemes and in multiplayer, the game is in a class of its own. While some sports involve a lot of effort (kayaking, cycling, stickfighting), others are really just zen (island flyover, skydiving, golf, archery) and there's something literally for everyone.
Nearly worth buying for table tennis alone.
A fun collection of games with some good challenges

Wii Sports Resort really shows off the new MotionPlus, which is a big improvement on the original Wiimote. The combination makes most of the activities a lot of fun, but some of the actions can be a bit strange.
Archery, wakeboarding and swordfighting are favourites, while basketball is a bit frustrating, and cycling uses the Wiimote in a strange way (your arms "cycle"). The flight activities really show off the accuracy of the Wii MotionPlus.

This Game is set to be one of the best motion sensing games in 2009
When we first played the original game it was exciting because you could actualy swing your arm to hit the ball in tennis or baseball or golf, and you could bowl a strike in bowling and it actually felt like a championship match when playing boxing but it never quite worked exactly how you wanted.
the wii motion plus is set to remedy this with the gyroscope it carrys. now you can watch your movements in real time in the many sports in the sequal to wii sports with frisbee, Table tennis, wakeboarding, basketball, jet skiing, swordplay, golf, canoeing, cycling, archery, swordplay, Air Sport and Bowling, this could be one of the best sports or even wii games this year!!
this game has 94% scoring in the official Nintendo Magazine
and has sold over 350,000 units in its first week in Japan!!
Set to revolutionise again!

The most important thing about this upcoming title is that it is bundled with an all-new accessory - the Wii Motionplus!
Games websites that have tested the new Motionplus addon for the Wii Remote have already started raving about how much better it makes the motion-controlled experience, creating a more fun, more realistic 3 dimensional motion control experience.
Wii Sports 2 is set to be a great title that shows off what the Wii controls are capable of, just as the first did.
