A quality product

Bought this to replace an old Microsoft stick that had literally worn out and am very pleased with the purchase.
The build quality is excellent with a solid heavy base meaning "drift" just does not occur even in those intense moments. The spring is perfect in its tension (although a few reviewers do complain it is stiff) and performs smoothly leading to good precise control. The ergonomics suit my hand very well and this is actually one of the most comfortable sticks I have used. The buttons are well layed out with plenty of them available making programming for BF2 (which has a fair few controls to map for the flying beasts) a snap. The logitech profile software is robust and easy to use. The buttons have a bit of a lightweight feel but their tactile response is good with a nice "click" to it so you know when it has engaged.
Overall I give it a high "score" and for those who do not want to spend a fortune but want good quality this stick is well worth a look. The current special instore makes this a good buy for that young gamer of yours this Christmas or even for yourself. With a whole new crop of racers due out soon buying a decent stick that is completely compatible with todays XP and backed up by a company like Logitech makes sense if like me you have been using your current stick for a number of years and it's getting a little sad and sloppy.

This was the first joystick I bought, and it's pretty good. The twist handle is great - assign it to the rudder, and you can control everything without the keyboard.
I use it mainly for games like Battlefield 1942/V/2, and it is so much better to control than mouse/keyboard.
The actual movement of the stick itself is pretty sweet - its not loose like cheap ones, but not so tight that you cant make minor adjustments in game - about right.
The extra buttons on the base are good as well - use your right hand on the stick, and the left hand controlling throttle and 6 buttons.
